Video page full of child appropriate videos for them to watch. For the project You Tube videos were used, for final project private servers and original content would be implemented to ensure age appropriate content.
Website for children
Concept:
This website was created for young children who want to view videos of stories being read to them with the added value for parents of ensuring that content was safe for consumption. Every child I interviewed and showed the site to enjoyed using the site and getting to select the videos themselves from the initial home screen. The site was created to promote ease of use for children and so minimal wording is displayed.
Bright bold coloring and large images make this site easy to use for young children just learning to use a computer, when viewed on an ipad children need only touch the video they want to view. Great for small hands with minimal motor skills.
Parents were shown the site and many shared with their children. Feedback resulted in positive confirmation that the site was something that parents could use for their young children.
